INTEGRATED PROGRAMME FOR OLDER PERSONS:
Our Old age home at Shadnagar Mandal H Q is running well with 50 inmates. This shelter accommodates senior citizens who crossed 60 years of age and who were driven away by their family members. We are providing them physical and psychological support through many services with dedication and commitment. This center adorns with a serene environment where the old people leading their lives in peace and happiness. This year we have provided them many religious books on their request. Every once in a year the inmates will be taken topilgrimages.This center is supported with medical facilities to keep them healthy in their old age. These old people are content with our love and affection and no longer feeling bitterness towards their family members for deserting them.
INTEGRATED PROGRAMME FOR STREET CHILDREN:
Our street children centers are running successfully with strength of 260 children. We have been successfully giving them formal education, vocational training to improve their life standards with proper education and to earn better income. We are providing food, clothes and shelter to them. Under the able guidance and supervision of qualified staff, these children are being molded into respectable future citizens. This programme is getting good appreciation from one and all and hundreds of children grown into respectable citizens with a purpose in their lives since the centers’ inception.
SHORT-STAY HOME:
The Short-stay home is a home for socially neglected women and girls who were thrown out of their houses for various reasons and became homeless girls. The home is functioning from November 2000. Altogether, 30 inmates got admission including few children. We have provided them food, shelter, cloths with recreation and rehabilitation facilities such as Tailoring & Embroidery, Candle making, Knitting and Beautician course. In addition, we have also provided them education to upgrade their present status. Many local and district officials and non- officials visited the home and recorded their appreciation. Some of the women were helped to get jobs in small-scale industries and other commercial establishments. This short stay home is gaining good momentum attracting unfortunate women for rehabilitation all over the state.
CHILD LABOUR:
We have established a special school exclusively for girl child labor at Ibhimpally H/O Rajapur Village of Balanagar Mandal. This year, we rehabilitated 100 girl child laborers with formal education and vocational trainings. 40 girls qualified for higher education and accommodated in government hostels. These achievements and our efforts are gaining good support from community and people from surrounding villages admitting their girl children for these benefits by not sending them to labor work.
RESIDENTIAL BRIDGE COURSE:
This year our RBC center enrolled 50 children.7 students qualified to pursue their higher education. Our staffs’ commitment and dedication regularized 50 dropout children of 9 to 14 years age group into pursuing their education, food & shelter. Subsequently they will be streamlined in he formal education.
RCH PROGRAMME
This unique Programme consists of continuous monitoring by trained health workers in a given geographical area attending emergency cases and further facilitates proper medical care for pregnant women and children. For this purpose, Arogya Sangams (Health associations) have been formed at village level in Keshampet & Talakondapally Mandals. The trained health worker gets an honorarium of Rs 200 per month and also provided with emergency medical kit. This year, our community health workers Altogether, 56 Community Health Workers in operation in Keshampet Mandal and Talakondaplly Mandal. Each of the 29 villages is endowed with one Mahila Arogya Sangam. These Health Workers have been monitoring the all health aspects of women from adolescent stage to menopause stage. This unique Programme has almost brought health facility to the doorstep of women in the specific operational area.
AIDS CONTROL PROJECT: (Target Intervention):
Under this Programme our main goal is to Prevent and control STD/HIV/AIDS, we have planned to reach the goal through BCC Component, STD treatment, Condom Promotion etc., To create advocacy linkages and counseling. All the above activities are in progress and continuing at various levels. As part of this programme this year a total number of 10,730 truck, drivers were contacted on National Highways and 892 STD cases were detected among the truck drivers and were successfully cured. We have promoted condom utilization through 2,90,470 free distribution and 25293 Social Marketing to control the magnitude & spreading of the AIDS.
RASHTRIYA MAHILA KOSH:
It is a continuous Programme and we have succeeded in their formation of new groups. We have appointed volunteers to look after book keeping thrift and credit management and other records.We mobilized DRDA funds as matching grant to establish small business purchase of fertilizers and agriculture input.
DISABLED WELFARE PROGRAMME:
Our organization is actively engaged and worked seriously in the handicapped related Programmes. We undertook a survey and completed the formation of Self-Help groups consisting of total disabled persons of our target area. The members of the said self-help groups are being benefited by revolving their savings and are even starting small and petty business to earn more revenue and to add something to their poverty stricken families.
ANDHRA PRADESH SOCIAL MARKETING PROGRAMME:
A.P. Social Marketing Programme had imparted training to (304) RMPs & PMPs covering entire Mahabubnagar District. The RMPs who under gone training will impart training to all the members in the villages who in turn take up motivation in the village for successful implementation of spacing methods.All the trainees were also supplied with the following material (1) Flip charts (2) Condom boxes (3) Kit bags of material.
NFE CENTRE:
We have established a NFE center at Tribal Villages. Already more than 1400 villagers of nearing villagers have participated in the Programme.
TAILORING CENTRE:
We are running tailoring center in our target villages for the betterment and livelihood of women. In these centers these women besides learning also earning little amount by stitching hosiery cloths, and doing small works. This is helping them to earn regular income.
HEALTH CAMPS:
We have conducted several Health Camps on aged people, children and distributed the medicines.
CONSUMER RIGHTS:
We have distributed resource material in our target Mandals, also conducted consumer awareness camps, and educated people in consumer rights and adulteration. Experts in consumer education and other officials concerned have cooperated us in implementing this Programme.
TRIBAL FOLK ART & CULTURE PROGRAMME:
During this year we have conducted various Programmes to promote and disseminate the Tribal Folk art & culture. We have gathered ancient tribal literature collected by various sources for these seminars.
GIRLS HOSTEL:
The organization providing residential facilities for 35 Girls Students who are studying in different classes and different communities from various villages.
GENERAL AWARENESS CAMPS:
We have conducted General Awareness Camps during the year on different issues in Keshampet Mandal, Farooqnagar Mandal, and Balanagar Mandal. The following issues were discusses during the camps.
- Awareness camps on aged people
- Awareness camp on Street children
- Awareness camp on women literacy
- Awareness camp on child labour
- Awareness camp on water conservation
PULSE POLIO PROGRAMME:
We have actively participated in Pulse Polio Programmes in our target area.
NATIONAL FESTIVALS:
Our organization has celebrated all the National Festivals in our target villages like Independence day, Republic day, Gandhi Jayanthi and children’s day. Conducted games and distributed prizes.
ANIMAL WELFARE ACTIVITIES:
Our organization is committed for welfare of a bovine population and for providing medical, health and fodder facilities for the neglected bovine population. So many cattle are wandering on the roads causing inconvenience to the public and vehicular traffic. So to regulate this farmers need proper awareness. Our organization conducted awareness camps of different types:
- Awareness camps on dairy development.
- Awareness camp on transportation of animals’ slaughterhouses.
- Camps on proper care of wounded animals and animal diseases.
- Awareness camps on wandering animals etc.,
OUT REACH PROGRAMME FOR CSWs(FSWs):
We appointed counselor to interact with the Commercial Sex Workers CSWs who in turn facing problems in their profession. The counselor will conduct counseling campaign STD treatment the campaign will create an opportunities of CSWs rehabilitation in this year 30 CSWs counseled diverted other respective livelihood practices like pan shops, Tea hotels etc.,
FAMILY COUNSELING CENTRE:
For the past several years, the incidence of violence & crime against women and children has been causing severe concern. It is observed that generally most of the problems are related to family for various reasons like martial discord with husband, cruelty, demands for dowry and due to maladjustment with the family environment. In all such cases in order to preserve social fabric and prevent families from breaking up their ties of family counseling service is necessary.
INCENTIVES FOR RCH WORKERS:
To encourage sterilization and family planning operations in Keshampet Mandal rural areas among rural folk, we have distributed Saris and other incentives to 41 beneficiaries. This program is a part of RCH Program, Keshampet Mandal.
