NSS was born two decades ago in a drought prone Jadcherla village, a village in the most back ward Mahabubnagar District, Andhra Pradesh, South India. NSS consists people with rural background; sufferers of calamities, and all the members were always enthusiastic with fervor to serve people for betterment. Majority of the people in this backward district are still poverty cursed and could not make room for development. We are closely associated with these poor and scanning all the backward villages acquiring an intimate knowledge of the rural people and their problems. Right from NSS inception, we intended to work exclusively for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and other downtrodden communities who remained` poorer among rural poor population. During the past 20 years, NSS faced several hurdles and discovered solutions to most of those problems. With pride we announce that all the members of NSS involving zealously in all the developmental activities that are implementing in the target villages with strong commitment. Initially, we initiated developmental activities in a small remote village of Midjil Mandal and presently expanded to 9 Mandals and 120 villages in Mahabubnagar District.

Aims & Objectives
THE MISSION
The Mission of NSS is to bring equality of opportunities and access to development avenues for all people in the society irrespective of their social and economic status. This has been an endeavor to achieve through spreading awareness leading to inculcating appropriate knowledge among people who would then be in a position to realize their self-potential and adorn a path for sustainable development.
THE VISION
The Vision of the Organization is to achieve empowerment of all subjects in the society and create an atmosphere for egalitarian development.
THE OBJECTIVES
Keeping in view the Vision and the Mission of the Organization, systematically drawn objectives have been set for to achieve the ultimate. The principal objectives among them has been listed below:
- To fathom out reasons for backwardness, in terms of people as well as the area, and identify the remedies available;
- Identify and carry out means and ways to empower the people in terms of their rights, strengths, strategies to pave way for sustainable and all round development process encompassing health & hygiene, demographic issues, technology application and related issued;
- To strive for equality in terms of gender, caste and creed and establish a conducive social atmosphere for long term economic goals;
- To strive for capacity building and improve human resources to enhance effectiveness of development programmes in vogue; and
- To promote economic development programmes based on local resources and promotion of technology resulting in optimum utilization of human resources and technologies available leading to effective and sustainable development.
AREA OF OPERATION
The principal area of operation is Mahabubnagar district in Andhra Pradesh, India. Mahabubnagar district has specifically been chosen in view of its extreme backwardness in terms of people and the area. Scanty rainfall, lowest literacy level, extreme poverty, degraded lands; fast depleting natural resources characterize the Mahabubnagar district in Andhra Pradesh. Although the perennial river Krishna traverse through the district, yet the irrigation potential could not be realized to the extent expected in view of massive financial requirement.
